Commercializing new technology is challenging. During early research, there are lots of resources available because the promise of new technology is exciting. Conversely, when products are nearly ready for market there are lots of resources available as profitable business cases are plentiful.

The gap in the middle of the development roadmap is the difficult part. Sometimes called the "valley of death," this is where most technologies get stuck on their development journey.
